Ya Ahlan wa Sahlan!! (Hello and Weclome!!) ^u^

And, a very blessed Eid Mubarak to everyone!!

Look at this cool sheep, i had a hard time choosing a picture for this blog, found it cute,
might change later or not haha!

On the 10th day of Zul-Hijja, we celebrate the Eid-Ul-Nahr (also known as Eid-ul-Azha).

On this festive day, we can see people teeming like crazy across animal farms, bangle stands and don’t forget henna stalls!!

While, zipping across the streets, we can see the roads and houses, jewelled up with fairy lights and all sort of beautiful animals wreathed by people of all ages.

Although, Eid comes up with a complete frenzy, with all of these festivities and preps, we shouldn’t forget countless other habits and ways that our universal religion, Islam has taught us.

With all the other celebrations, here are some of the beautiful sunnah’s of the Prophet (PBUH), that I’ve gathered to share with each one of you!!

☆Before, I commence, don’t forget to keep a pure intention (neeyah) of following the habits of Prophet (PBUH) for the sake of true ajar (reward) and the razah of Allah (SWT). In Sha Allah!!☆

1. Praying the FAJAR prayer:

As a part of our normal routine and obligation, don’t forget to begin this day with the Salat-ul-Fajar, to attain endless blessings of this special day on the Islamic calendar ^u^

2. Ghussl:

It’s sunnah to perform ghussl, before going for the eid prayer.

(If you would like to know more about ghussl, you can let me know and I’ll be so very happy to blog separately about this entire topic, In Sha Allah!!)

3. NOT EATING anything (BEFORE the eid prayer):

It’s sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) to not eat anything before the eid prayer.

4. Wearing your BEST clothes:

To wear the best clothes, does not mean to buy new ones every eid, don’t forget that we have many brothers and sisters across the globe not being able to buy new ones and as our beautiful religion teaches us balance in our lives, it’s important that we cut down on things that aren’t a necessity. To wear best clothes specifically signifies wearing “clean clothes” and one of “your most favourite modest clothes”.

I hope y’all get me on this point, In Sha Allah!! although there’s nothing wrong with treating yourself once in a while with a modest dress. The whole point is to keep a pure intention and not to overspend as said in our religion.

5. Reciting TAKBEER:

It’s sunnah to recite takbeer softly on your way to the Masjid (Mosque) for the eid prayer.

The eid takbeer is:

Allah-u-Akbar! Allah-u-Akbar! La Illaha Illallah-u-wallahu Akbar, Walillahil Hamd.

6. The SPECIAL EID GREETING:

It was narrated by Jubayr Ibn Nufayr (RA) that The Sahaba (RA) used to greet one another on the day of eid with the following words:

“Taqabbal Allah-u-Minnaa Wal Minka”

which means:

May Allah (SWT) accept the fast and worship from you and from us. (Ameen!) -Fathul Baari

7. Returning from the eid prayer:

Before, now, I wasn’t aware of this sunnah but while I was collecting more information for this blog, I came across this interesting sunnah, SubhanAllah!!

Narrated by Jabir Bin Abdullah that the Prophet (PBUH) after offering the eid prayer, used to come back home from a different route, than the one He used to go to the Mosque from.

Just like me, you might be wondering why He (PBUH) did that?

Well.. the secret behind this was so that, the two paths on the day of judgement will testify that you attended this salah. SubhanAllah!!

8. Those WHO CAN’T PERFORM THE QURBANI:

This is apart from the normal topic, but thought I’ll share this with the sisters reading this blog at the moment, that if you cannot perform the qurban (sacrifice), this doesn’t limit you from attaining the countless bounties this auspicious day of eid has to offer. But, for all of those, who cannot perform the qurban (sacrifice), for all of them theirs no limitation to eat before the eid prayer :3

A very blessed Eid-Al-Azha to you and your family!! In Sha Allah!!

Blessed presents to each one of you :))

This is your hijabi signing off,

Assalamm-O-Aalekumm!! ❤

In the end, a little note to everybody who made it till the end of this blog, may Allah Almighty grant you and your beloved ones with endless blessings and may He guide us (In Sha Allah!!) to be among His pious followers. Ameen Ya Rabbal-Alameen!!
